School Life

 I studied at Department of Applied Foreign Languages, National Tainan Commercial Vocational Senior High School. I chose English as my major because I thought that English is important. At first, I did' t really enjoy studying English. However, with my teacher' s instruction and help, gradually, I found that English is more interesting than I thought. For example, some magazines and novels involved a lot of information and interesting stories which made me more willing to learn it. Besides, I also listened to some English songs and English movies to practice my English listening capability. Moreover, I practiced English oral speaking with friends no matter in the classes or after school. Because I always believe that what my grandmother says "Practice make perfect". Although sometimes it was too hard for me to overcome, I never give up. In the process of learning English, I encountered many difficulties. But I always hold a positive attitude toward everything. For example, it was hard for me to understand a reading text containing too many words that I don' t know. To overcome this obstacle, I tried to figure out what the article means by skipping the words that I am not familiar with and try to  increase my vocabulary. As a result, I have improved my English reading skill step by step.
  As for some qualification examination, I passed the preliminary test of the intermediate level of General English Proficiency Test, including listening and reading.  Besides, I have passed the level 3 of the Test of English Ability Association. Moreover, I also passed the required qualification examination of class C skill category of Computer Software Application. In addition, I got an A-level prize in the Nationwide Senior High Schools Short Essay Competition.
  Apart from studying hard, I also learned a lot from the relationship between my classmates and I. For example, we were struggling with each other during the sport meetings. Though the process was a little difficult, we won the Spirit of the total title at the end. After this, I learned that unity is strength and had a lot of memory in my mind. Besides, I got politely model student when I was an 11th grader student. I was so grade about it. Moreover, that good manners is very important no matter how old I grow.
  As for clubs, I participated in the Japanese conversation club when I was a freshman. Because I think that the more languages I learn, the more advantage I have. Besides, I really interested in Japanese culture and lifestyle. As for me,  participating in the club was a chance for me to know and learn more about Japan. In addition, learning a lot of different languages and master in all of them is one of my dream. At second semester, I join the guitar club to learn more ability. Thought I was not good at it, I was very great about contacting another musical instrument. 

Family Background

  My name is Hou, hau-fung. I was born in a family which was harmonious and warm. There are six people in my family, composed of my grandparents, my parents, my younger sister and I. In my childhood, my grandfather always asked me to bow when I met elder. Because my grandfather considered that good manners is very important no matter how old I grow. My grandmother was a piano teacher when I was a child, so she taught me to play the piano when I was three years old. She always said "Practice make perfect", so I used to practice my skill a lot everyday after school. Besides, she also asked me to join competitions or piano tests which made me become more brave when I face people on the stage. My father is a official in Tainan municipal government. Before he obtained this qualifications, he participated to the test for 10 times. So I learned the motto " Never give up too early " from my father. Every time when I met some challenges I were exert myself and tried my best to do it well. My mother is a scrivener who is very busy everyday. But she always makes everything perfect and takes care of all my family well. She is also filial and open-minded. Moreover, she is really a good model for me to learn. My younger sister is a 10th grade student who is independent. Because she lives in dormitory and does everything by herself which makes me admires. Her brave is what I want to learn and praise.

Self-Evaluation

  When it comes to self-evaluation, I have a lot of advantages and abilities. As for my personality, I am an optimistic and easy-going girl. Because I always look on the bright side even when I meet some difficult challenges. Besides, I am curious to everything I am interest and always want to know more about it. Moreover, I am moderate and friendly. In addition, I am frugal and like to deposit regular.
  As for my abilities and specialty, I can speak English and Japanese. Besides, I take part in some qualification examination in English. For example, I passed some qualification examinations in language and computer software application. Although I am not major in Japanese, I can say some simple terms. Besides, I will practice it well in the future. In addition, I can do some word processing. Furthermore, I can play the piano. Moreover, I used to take part in some piano computations and qualification examinations.
  As for my interest, I like to play the piano and  listen to some music which can make me become more relax. Besides, I like to read some books, novels and magazines which can broaden my horizon. Moreover, I like to surf the Internet which can make me know more about Japanese culture and information. In addition, I like to travel which can make me know more about local culture and see some beautiful views. Furthermore, I like to go to museum to see some exhibitions.
  As for my attitude toward life, I think practice make perfect. For instants, I couldn' t speak English fluently in the beginning of my high school life and I even became stammer when I made a speech onstage. Trying to overcome the fear, I practiced hard before every speeches and oral tests. Finally, my oral teacher told me that he was surprise that I improve a lot in English speaking. So I deeply believe that practice make perfect and apply this motto in my life.

Future Perspectives
