School Life

 I studied at Department of Applied Foreign Languages, National Tainan Commercial Vocational Senior High School. I chose English as my major because I thought that English is important. At first, I did' t really enjoy studying English. However, with my teacher' s instruction and help, gradually, I found that English is more interesting than I thought. For example, some magazines and novels involved a lot of information and interesting stories which made me more willing to learn it. Besides, I also listened to some English songs and English movies to practice my English listening capability. Moreover, I practiced English oral speaking with friends no matter in the classes or after school. Because I always believe that what my grandmother says "Practice make perfect". Although sometimes it was too hard for me to overcome, I never give up. In the process of learning English, I encountered many difficulties. But I always hold a positive attitude toward everything. For example, it was hard for me to understand a reading text containing too many words that I don' t know. To overcome this obstacle, I tried to figure out what the article means by skipping the words that I am not familiar with and try to  increase my vocabulary. As a result, I have improved my English reading skill step by step.
  As for some qualification examination, I passed the preliminary test of the intermediate level of General English Proficiency Test, including listening and reading.  Besides, I have passed the level 3 of the Test of English Ability Association. Moreover, I also passed the required qualification examination of class C skill category of Computer Software Application. In addition, I got an A-level prize in the Nationwide Senior High Schools Short Essay Competition.
  Apart from studying hard, I also learned a lot from the relationship between my classmates and I. For example, we were struggling with each other during the sport meetings. Though the process was a little difficult, we won the Spirit of the total title at the end. After this, I learned that unity is strength and had a lot of memory in my mind. Besides, I got politely model student when I was an 11th grader student. I was so grade about it. Moreover, that good manners is very important no matter how old I grow.
  As for clubs, I participated in the Japanese conversation club when I was a freshman. Because I think that the more languages I learn, the more advantage I have. Besides, I really interested in Japanese culture and lifestyle. As for me,  participating in the club was a chance for me to know and learn more about Japan. In addition, learning a lot of different languages and master in all of them is one of my dream. At second semester, I join the guitar club to learn more ability. Thought I was not good at it, I was very great about contacting another musical instrument.

  My name is Hou, hau-fung. I was born in a family which was harmonious and warm. There are six people in my family, composed of my grandparents, my parents, my younger sister and I. In my childhood, my grandfather always asked me to bow when I met elder. Because my grandfather considered that good manners is very important no matter how old I grow. My grandmother was a piano teacher when I was a child, so she taught me to play the piano when I was three years old. She always said "Practice make perfect", so I used to practice my skill a lot everyday after school. Besides, she also asked me to join competitions or piano tests which made me become more brave when I face people on the stage. My father is a official in Tainan municipal government. Before he obtained this qualifications, he participated to the test for 10 times. So I learned the motto " Never give up too early " from my father. Every time when I met some challenges I were exert myself and tried my best to do it well. My mother is a scrivener who is very busy everyday. But she always makes everything perfect and takes care of all my family well. She is also filial and open-minded. Moreover, she is really a good model for me to learn. My younger sister is a 10th grade student who is independent. Because she lives in dormitory and does everything by herself which makes me admires. Her brave is what I want to learn and praise.

My name is Fang. I am now 17 years old. I have an English name called Matthew. I am studying in a private high school. There are five people in my family officer and my mother is a housewife. Both of my younger brother and sister are studying in junior high school. You might think that my family is a traditional and stern one because of my father. However, it’s the opposite. My father is an open-minded person full of sense of humor. I must say I am lucky to have such a happy family.

My father certainly have great influence on me, I always look up to him. His passion and dedication to his job and family are the best things us. He never forces us to do anything we don’t like. He gives us freedom of choice. That’s why I can join so many school activities and have the chance to develop my hobbies.

I have been very active. I am one of the computer freaks who just can’t take my eyes away from the computer screen. My friends know I am good in computer, so as their computers have troubles, they would come to me. I am also a picture in school baseball team. Our team has won many, many matches thus we gained an honorable title of ”unbeatable” team “I believe this is resulted from our constant practice, hard work and our strong team spirit.

Although computer and baseball take up most of my leisure time, I manage to use some spare time to play electronic guitar in a band. I use computer to make a lot of our songs into MIDI flies and send them forward to many friends. My friends love them and think it’s awesome. To be able to combine my knowledge of computer and music is my proudest thing. Don’t get me wrong. I didn’t neglect my study. Unless my grades in school is OK, otherwise my parents won’t let me go all these.

I have been interested in computer since I was an elementary school student. That was the time Father had this big computer on his desk. Every time I was father’s absorbed face while using the computer, I developed this kind of admiration to it. I said to myself “I want to be like that one day.”

I liked to play around with my dad’s computer. One day I accidentally deleted one of my dad’s important files, I was very scared that my father would be furious with me. However it was not the case, my father gave me a gift instead of punishment. I was so surprised. Guess what? Yes, I got anew computer. Ever since then I have been addicted to computers, especially after the emerging of the Internet. Surfing the net has been one of my greatest hobbies.

The e-Commerce has changed our traditional form of life style. Take myself for example: I keep in touch with my friends through e-mail: I send my greetings through e-card; I buy books from e-book; I shop from many websites and I search information from the search engines.

Not to mention the importance of the e-era has brought most powerful reform to the business world banks and stock markets do transaction through the net, business direct transaction through the net, he space and time limitation no longer exist. My name is Linda . I am 18 years old, studying in National Tainan Chia-Chi Girls' Senior High School. I come from a very happy middle class family. I have one sibling . . My father is a policeman and my mother is a homemaker. I am not the so-called spoiled child. I was taught to be independent since childhood.

  Acton is the good place that has many friendly residents and beautiful landscapes which can attract many touist every year. In my opinion, I don' t support to open a large factory in Acton. Due to I think this small town should keep its natural resource. First of all, they could evolve tourism instead of destroying its natural views.  In addition, they can built some villas or hotels to attract some visitors. Besides, if there would built a large factory in this town, it will cause a lot of pollution such as air pollution and water pollution. Moreover, the environment will change and the industrial waste will make the inhabitants suffer from terrible diseases. Furthermore, with the increase of the population, the quality of life will get worse than ever. Additionally, the relationship between the inhabitants will become estrangement day by day. Due to those effects, I think we shouldn' t open a large factory in such clean and quiet place. To be complete in both respects,we should choose another industrial zone to construct this factory.

Best of the semester-Contrasting about two employees(2)

  At the begin of this semester, our university is hiring a new English instructor. Therefore, we issued this notice, then we get two resumes from two eligible people for this job. After thinking twice, we decide to hire Debra Fines. Below are some points, why we decide to hire her to be our new English instructor. First of all, Debra has more education than Lynn. In addition, those experiences can help her teach more professional knowledge to our students. Besides, Debra has various employment experience, while Lynn doesn't. Moreover, those experience may help her to show how professional she is. The last but not the least,  Debra has a publication, but Lynn doesn't. That is why she can help our students to improve their writing abilities. Although Lynn is a good teacher, we think Debra is more suitable to this position. To sum up, the final decision will be declare after we discuss in the meeting.

Best of the semester-Comparing about Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty(1)

  Girls are interested in being princesses in their childhood and I am no exception. Disney princess series movies are also the staple in girls' daily lives. Why those animation movies are so charming and attractive to little girls? Below is the list of similarities between the two princess series movies. First of all, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella both have some plots about the brave princes saving the poor princess which are the stories in girls' dreams. Moreover, Sleeping Beauty was adapted from the famous fairytale. Likewise, Cinderella  was adapted from the famous fairytale. Furthermore, those fairy tales are building up girls' fantasies. On the other hand, Sleeping Beauty is as well-known as Cinderella. The last but not the least,  all the characters in the Sleeping Beauty and those in the Cinderella alike. All of the characters are pretty and cute in those two princess series movies. To sum up, as for why those princess series animation movies are so popular, I think that it's due to their happy ending.

    I'm a business administration student. I have been asked to analyze a case about a closed music store. Below is a list of the reasons for why I think about it. First of all, its location didn't have enough population. In my opinion, he should choose a place near the shopping mall or the train station. Secondly, the owner of this music shop spent too much money on buying CDs for his shop. I think he can buy some second-handed CDs to reduce his budget. Besides, most kinds of the CDs were hip-hop and rock which can only draw some specific groups. Maybe he can buy some pop music which can attract more people. Furthermore, he sold per CD for 15 dollars, which was too cheap to earn money from selling them. In addition, he didn't provide the service to the customer who paid by checks and credit cards. Moreover, he hired too many clerks for his shop which may increase his financial burden.  The last but not the least, his work time is from 1 to 5p.m on Monday to Friday, which is the main problem about his failure. Due to the hours his shop worked didn't correspond to the rush hours; as a result, he couldn't bring more people to his shop. I suggest the owner should think twice before he plans to open a shop;otherwise, he will fail to his next investment.

  I'm a business administration student. I have been asked to analyze a case about a closed music store this semester. Below is a list of the reasons of why I think about it. First of all, its location didn't have enough population. In my opinion, he should choose a place in the shopping mall or the main steet near train station. Secondly, the owner of this music shop spend too much money on buying CDs for his shop. I think his can buy some second-handed CDs to reduce his budget. Besides, most of the CDs were hip-hop and rock which can only draw some specific groups. Maybe he can buy some pop music which can attract more people. In addition, he didn't provide the server about the customer who was pay by checks  and credit cards. The hours his shop worked was not the rush hours that he couldn't bring people in his shop. After I analyze about this case. I think the owner should think twice before he planned to open the shop.     It's a new begin for my friend and me to become the freshman in the university. Thought it's a good news for us to begin our new life, it also involves some problems for us to search a new house. Therefore, we search on the Net and find two apartments which are both near our campus. In addition, we make some contrast below. First of all, Fairfax Apartments has 2 large bedroom for each of us to use. However, CAMPUS APTS only has 1 bedroom. Moreover, Fairfax Apartments has air condition and all the furnish, while CAMPUS APTS doesn't include those benefits. Besides, Fairfax Apartments doesn't allow to keep pets. On the other hand, CAMPUS APTS is pets allowed.  Unlike Fairfax Apartments, CAMPUS APTS is available immediately. The last but not the least, Fairfax Apartments' rent is 1250 dollars per a month and involves all utilities. In contrast,  CAMPUS APTS' rent is 900 dollars each month but needs to plus utilities. There are a lot of merits for us to decide which one is more suitable for us. We'll make the decision after we think twice.

  I once lived in Taipei, and worked as a volunteer in a hospital. It was really such a wonderful experience to earn the opportunity to help people who were in need. Every time when I helped those who was in need, I will felt good about what I do. One morning an elderly woman was sent to the hospital, and she was badly hurt by a car. However, the driver who hit her by the car said that she rushed to the middle of the road. The police felt that it was strange of the woman to do such odd behavior. After they found her son, they realized that the woman’s family was so poor that she wanted to kill herself to lighten the burden. Therefore, the woman wanted to kill herself to lighten the burden. After I heard this story, I think she was a person who needed helps. So I always bought something useful for her and talked to her. Consequently, she became more optimistic about her life. It was a good experience for me to realize that helping people was a happy thing.
